Moebius, a restaurant in Milan, wanted a centuries-old olive tree in its interior, which was lowered from the roof during the renovation of the building.

how far in advance to request it?

Permits are required to fly over Milan, as in many other places in Italy.
Shooting or photographing with a drone over the city of Milan requires
the approval of the Prefecture of Milan and Enac (Ente Nazionale Aviazione Civile).
Furthermore, if filming or photographing with a drone in Milan takes place in the historic centre
or in special places in the city, a permit for the shooting must be obtained
from the Milan City Council and the relevant fee paid.

The amount to be paid to the Municipality of Milan for permission
to film or photograph in the city centre and the areas
concerned are indicated on the Milan City Council website.

IMPORTANT
The pilot must request overflight permits from the Prefecture and the Municipality
with at least 3 weeks’ notice.
